Thanks to “John the Methodist” for sharing this piece by Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central. Did you ever think you would hear a comedian reciting the full Nicene Creed?

He also has fun with unitarians and points out the absurdity of religions hating in the name of God.

    >As a former Unitarian Universalist, I find this clip hilarious! Unitarian Universalism has no creed, and no dogma. Instead it has 7 principles which they “covenant to affirm and promote”. The fourth of these principles was, and is, my favorite – the free and responsible search for truth and meaning. I am so glad to be able to say that I have (very recently) conducted a free and responsible search for truth and meaning and found a religious tradition that resonates with me: Christianity. Praise Jesus! At first I had difficulty “coming out” as a Christian to my UU friends and acquaintances, but I’m getting bolder. The people that I’ve told about my new found religion have, for the most part, taken the news very well – at least to my face – which is the greatest sign of tolerance for Christians that I’ve exprienced from UUs in quite some time. For a group that talks so much about tolerance and respect, I’ve found them to be quite intolerant, and most disrespectful when it comes to Christianity and Christians.
