>I must admit, I rarely do sermon series. For the past 14 years of pastoral ministry, I have found that preaching the lectionary is both a great personal discipline and a kind of “school” for learning how to dance to the rhythm of the church seasons.
Having said that, I have been a pastor at RUMC for the past eleven years and decided that this summer might be a good time to try something different. Earlier in the year, I did some writing for the UM Publishing House that immersed me in the Old Testament, particularly the book of Exodus. My time spent in prayer, reflection, and writing inspired me to want to go further. The result was a 10-sermon series on the Ten Commandments.
Those who read my weekly Monday Meditation emails will be receieivng the sermons in their email inboxes. I have also decided to provide links on my blog to those who might want to browse over the email archives if they would like. Here is the first installment (one to come each week):
Sermon I: “Monument or Movement?”
