  • Should Nations Repent?

    >There is certainly biblical precedent for doing so and not just with the story of Israel, God’s covenant people. Read Jonah, where a whole nation takes the king’s lead, donning sackcloth and “crying mightily to God – turning from their evil ways and from the violence that is in their hands.” (3:8) If both individuals…

    > What Bible do you read? I think it may be a good question to ponder as we enter into a new year. I am not just referring to translations (King Jimmy or NRSV) vs. paraphrases (The Living Bible or The Message), but the more troublesome tendency to pick and choose parts of the Bible…

Welcome to my blog! I love theology, life, writing … and the three things often intersect on this blog. I am not sure where I first heard it, but I have never forgotten the quote: “Give me anything and I can tell you about God.” I like that. It doesn’t matter what it is – movies, pop culture, politics, the church, music, motorcycles, basketball, the beach, the mountains, war, hunger, love, forgiveness, or people and personalities – it is all raw material for reflection on the mystery and majesty of God.
